Business Development Managers

  • Locations: North West & South
  • Salary: £30,000 p.a. plus commission (20%)
  • Reporting to: Sales Director
  • Holidays: 33 days including statutory public holidays
  • Travel: Vehicle supplied

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Searching for new customers and opportunities to increase revenues – aka pipelined business
  • Responsible for developing a strong pipeline of new business opportunities
  • Attending trade shows, networking events, customer site visits
  • Initiating face to face meetings with new customers
  • Presenting pre-production samples
  • Managing customer issues and negotiating a solution for the business and the customer
  • Ultimately responsible for the customer and the accounts
  • To promote and sell the range of company products to a variety of market sectors
  • To secure a rolling monthly turnover of new business
  • To successfully manage and grow an inherited account portfolio
  • To utilise knowledge of the market and competitors to identify potential areas of new business
  • To identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators
  • To manage new accounts opened, fully communicating the customer needs
  • To submit weekly reports on your activities
  • To prepare a detailed monthly report on the state of the market and the company’s position within it and comment on the company’s strengths and weaknesses

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Educated to degree level or higher education

  • Good persuasive and negotiation skills
  • Results driven
  • Opportunistic and optimistic
  • Understanding of logistics ideal but not essential
  • Analytical thinking especially related to timelines
  • Capacity to grasp concepts easily
  • Problem solving capabilities
  • Ability to work in a logical, systematic manner
  • Business to business experience
  • Computer literacy

    Self-motivated, showing the ability to work from home
  • A passion for sales and a drive to succeed
  • Ability to demonstrate a track record of opening and managing new accounts
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Clean driving licence and holding a current passport
  • Normal customer visiting hours are between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday, however needs of the business may require work outside of these hours when necessary
